Great little hostel with good vibe. Fantastic value for Kyoto. The absolute best breakfast we had in any accommodation in Japan! So much variety including lots of fruit, cannot believe breakfast is included for this price. Good location, 5mins walk from metro stop, 10min walk from Ninenzaka street. Walkable to Gion and kiyomizudera temple. Some great affordable restaurants nearby. Good storage lockers - can’t quite get a large backpack in but can get essentials/valuables in. Does not offer luggage forwarding but is directly opposite Lawson who were able to do this for us. V helpful staff and lovely family.

I absolutely loved this hostel - the owner, Jiro, Shoko san, and other staff - everyone was such a delight to meet. the guest house is a traditional old Japanese style wooden house - which must be experienced! Breakfast - made with soo much love, not only was a balanced variety of foods provided, the host provided many seasonal fruit options! The positive attitude is so infectious - even the guests were in delightful mood when lounging. I do miss Jiro - the cutest Shiba I met in Japan. I take very fond memories from here - and wish to see them whenever I'm in kyoto!

Absolute best vibes! The staff (and resident dog, Jiro) are so chill and friendly. Very friendly and homely atmosphere in an excellent location! Take a walk down the street towards the station, past the bridge: there's an alley with hundreds of lanterns in it. The guy who owns the first shop on the corner (next to the lady who sells 1000¥ kimonos- yes, really: they're legit, just might have the tiniest bit of damage) is awesome and will do you a great meal. Also, try the miso soup the hostel owner makes for brekkie! It's amazing

The breakfast is definitely a highlight with a lot of choices. The location is fantastic, right next to the east district but also for getting all around kyoto(you can walk to Sanjo station, which is a really convenient hub station in 12 minutes). Beds are comfy. Showers are big. The staff is always helpful and around almost all the time if you need them and of course Jiro is super cute. They had the 10th anniversary of the guesthouse and threw a party and invited everybody to drink and eat for free, really something else 👍.

Loved everything about my stay here! A traditional Townhouse, everything was very well maintained, the owner and staff were very helpful. They helped explain things to me in English, which helped as I know very little Japanese. A very homely feeling and met great people from all over the world. The provided breakfast was delicious. I felt very safe leaving my stuff out, and had lockers for safekeeping. A small outside garden which was great to sit and talk with others in the evenings.
